Southbend S36D-2GR

The Southbend S36D-2GR S-Series gas range has two open burners on the left, a 24-inch-wide griddle on the right, and a standard oven in the base. For strength, the open burners are made of one piece of cast iron, and cast iron grates sit over them to hold cookware directly over the heat source. A 14-inch-diameter stockpot fits on the rear grate, while the griddle plate is 0.5 inch thick and is made of polished steel. Because of the combination of burners and a griddle plate, this unit places two of the most common cooking surfaces in a convenient footprint. Along the front, a 4-inch-deep rail holds plates while keeping operators separate from hot surfaces.

In the base of this Southbend S36D-2GR commercial range, the 26-inch by 26.5-inch standard oven holds a removable rack and has a two-position guide for flexible positioning. The oven’s interior is enameled, which creates a slick surface that prevents food and bacteria from accumulating. Insulation covers the front, back, sides, and top of the oven, holding heat inside to maintain the set temperature. Operators can use the snap-action thermostat to adjust the temperature from 175 to 550 degrees Fahrenheit. This unit is elevated off the floor by 4-inch legs so users can clean the floor underneath it, and because these legs are adjustable, the range remains level on uneven surfaces.
